Visitors who sank a putt at the booth’s challenging, nine-foot putting green were eligible for three prizes. Lowenstein won a $500 gift card to Edwin Watts Golf in the random drawing. When contacted about his “stroke” of luck he said, “Wow!. [I] look forward to receiving the gift certificate, which will help our Professional Golf Management Program.”
Coastal Carolina’s professional golf management program, in place since 1975, is endorsed by the Professional Golf Association (PGA) of America. It prepares students to pursue careers as club or teaching professionals, golf association administrators, golf-equipment manufacturers’ representatives, or with trade publications―among many other job opportunities in the industry.
Sapna Popli, executive dean of IILM Institute for Higher Education, won the drawing’s second prize, an Odyssey Golf putter; Rodrigo Navia, dean of Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso the third-place prize, one dozen Titleist Pro V1x golf balls.
