Annual Industry Conference

GMAC® presents “Reach beyond the Horizon,” the 2007 Annual Industry Conference June 14–16.

The 2007 GMAC Annual Industry Conference comes to historic Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, June 14-16. More than 600 are expected to attend the event, which features keynote speakers Gary Hamel and Alison Levine, along with a wide array of concurrent sessions and several special events. Program chair is Rose Martinelli, Associate Dean, Student Recruitment and Admissions for the Full-Time MBA Program, University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

The conference begins with a Thursday evening reception at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown Hotel. On Friday, world-renowned business strategist and Visiting Professor of Strategic and International Management at the London Business School Gary Hamel delivers the keynote address: “Innovation–Where Business Schools Should Be Heading: Anticipate Over the Horizon.” Hamel last spoke at a GMAC® Conference four years ago and received high praise from attendees. Some tell us they still refer to their notes.

Closing the conference on Saturday is speaker Alison Levine, who led the first American Women’s Everest Expedition in 2002. She is the founder and president of Daredevil Strategies, a consulting firm that focuses on organizational effectiveness, leadership development, and team dynamics. Levine draws parallels between surviving and thriving on top of a mountain and the business world.

Concurrent sessions are designed for professionals in admissions, student services, advising, career services, alumni and external relations, financial aid, and communications. DocNet, the association of doctoral program directors, will offer a session for doctoral programs.

Our always-popular networking opportunities are numerous. Friday night’s reception at the Franklin Mint will also feature a visit to the King Tut Exhibition. To find out more, visit www.gmac.com/annualconference.
