New vendors Pearson VUE and ACT take over responsibility for administering and developing the GMAT® exam on January 3. Registration for the exam at ETS® for testing through the end of 2005 ends December 17; candidates can make testing appointments for 2006 immediately using the new Pearson VUE® system.
The transition of the GMAT® exam to Pearson VUE, a business of NCS Pearson, Inc., and ACT, Inc., will become official on January 3, heralding a new chapter in the history of the Graduate Management Admission Test®. The exam itself will not change as a result of this transition, but the switch to new vendors will enable improvements in a number of key areas, including test security and score reporting.
As we’ve previously announced, Pearson VUE will assume global responsibility for delivering and scoring the GMAT® test and ACT will manage the ongoing development of the exam. Both of these functions have been handled until now by Educational Testing Service® (ETS®), which retains those roles until December 31, 2005.
Candidates wishing to take the GMAT® before the end of 2005 have until December 17 to register using the ETS® registration system. People who want to take the exam in 2006 can register immediately using the new Pearson VUE system, which is already up and running. Both registration systems are available on mba.com.
