New School Codes Effective January 2006
GMAC® mailed new GMAT® Program Codes to business schools in April, to replace the Designated Institution (DI) codes that applicants use to send their GMAT® scores to your school. Assigned at the program level, the new codes will ensure that scores go directly to the appropriate admissions professionals.
The new codes will provide you and your staff with more detailed information about trends in score reporting, including the programs other than yours that each test taker selected to receive his or her scores. This will help you evaluate the competitive landscape and position you for more sophisticated analysis in the future.
GMAC® has been updating program information to make sure the new codes are applied to the most accurate contact listings; if you have not received your new codes, then we’re still trying to reach you. If applicants use the old DI code, their scores will still reach their intended destination, but schools will miss out on our new electronic score-reporting service and other enhancements when the new codes take effect in 2006. If you or your staff have any questions or concerns about the new school codes, please send us an email at gmattransition@gmac.com, or call 1-703-749-0131.
Limited Summer Testing
From July 15 to August 15, 2005, GMAC® is offering free testing to prequalified candidates in 20 cities around the world. The scores will be comparable to other GMAT® test scores and will be part of the test takers’ permanent records. Visit www.mba.com for more information about the free testing program.
Score reports for the limited summer test will look different from the reports your staff currently receives; details about changes to the score reports will be available this summer. Your school will be able to receive scores from the free testing program electronically if you currently receive GMAT® scores that way; we will be in touch in May to explain how the new electronic files differ from the existing ones.
The limited summer testing program is being offered to make certain that the systems and processes developed by new vendors Pearson VUE™ and ACT™ will be ready in January 2006, when the GMAT® vendor transition will take place. For more information about the transition, watch your mail for brief quarterly updates, or visit www.gmac.com.
