Selections Does a Double Take

The 2004 issue of Selections magazine explores the theme "Projections and Reflections: A Look Back and Ahead at Graduate Management Education."

The 2004 Selections magazine, themed "Projections and Reflections: A Look Back and Ahead at Graduate Management Education," revisits the issues that have shaped the past 20 years of graduate management education and predicts the issues likely to influence the industry in the coming years.

The issue features—

  • A dean's reflections on changes in the b-school landscape over the past two decades (by James W. Schmotter, Selections editor in chief and dean of the Haworth College of Business at Western Michigan University)
  • Survey-based information on how students and corporate recruiters select business schools
  • An exploration of the close and often tense relationship between b-schools and the media

Selections also features an article called "New Hire Power: Finding the Magnets That Attract Recruiters," covering career services offices’ creative efforts to match graduates and jobs. The Selections website, www.gmac.com/selections, offers a sidebar to this article that can only be found on the Web—a compilation of creative approaches to helping place graduates in a challenging market.

Also on the Selections website, you can find an interactive timeline of GMAT® and MBA history, commemorating the 50-year anniversary of the GMAT®. You can also download PDFs of current and past issues of the print magazine.
