GMAT Price Increase Coming January 1

As part of the pricing plan approved by the GMAC® Board of Directors in December 2003, the cost of taking the GMAT® will increase from U.S. $225 to U.S. $250 beginning January 1, 2005.

The price of taking the GMAT® exam will increase by U.S. $25 to U.S. $250, beginning January 1, 2005. The price of auxiliary GMAT® services, such as Additional Score Reports and test rescheduling, will not change as part of the price increase.

The increase was approved by the GMAC® Board of Directors in December 2003 to take into account the rising costs of test security and test delivery at more locations throughout the world.

GMAC® thoroughly investigated the possible effect on test takers of the coming price increase, looking specifically at whether the higher price would be a deterrent to test taking, particularly in developing countries. We found that the price of the test would not exceed 2% of the total cost of graduate management education, and that the price increase would therefore not place an undue burden on test takers.
