The newly expanded MBA Pathfinder data warehouse is now up and running on gmac.com, and business school professionals are steadily entering program data. At this writing, a total of 767 programs are represented in the data warehouse—are yours?
Information submitted to the data warehouse through gmac.com feeds the MBA Pathfinder school search on mba.com. Prospective applicants conduct an average of 37,000 school searches per month on mba.com, so it is to every school’s benefit to participate in this free service.
We’ve expanded the MBA Pathfinder® data warehouse to create the most accurate and comprehensive source of business school information available anywhere. In 2005, the new data warehouse will also enable schools to retrieve their own program data in the form of reports.
Agreed-Upon Procedures: Audits Without the Bite
To ensure adherence to the MBA Reporting Criteria, which govern the submission of detailed program information to MBA Pathfinder®, GMAC® sponsors a quality-assurance program. Schools that enter detailed program information (such as admissions statistics) agree to random examinations of their data—known as agreed-upon procedures—by the professional services firm KPMG.
All findings within a predetermined range of acceptability will be reported to the staff members that deans have authorized as contacts to the MBA Pathfinder® program. As dean, you will be notified only if KPMG identifies significant findings during its evaluation of your school’s information. In addition to the authorized parties at your school, only KPMG staff and the GMAC® MBA Reporting Criteria manager will see your school’s results, so your report will remain confidential.
