GMAT Volume Update

GMAT® testing volume is down worldwide in 2004, compared with 2003. The trend is more pronounced outside the United States.

Year-to-date GMAT® volume through July 31, 2004—114,848 tests taken worldwide—shows a 6.98% decrease when compared with the number of tests taken during the same time period in 2003.

The number of tests taken so far in 2004 in the United States shows a decline of 4.45% from testing volume during the first seven months of 2003.

Outside the United States, the decline in testing volume is more pronounced, at 12.21%. The overall decrease in non-U.S. test volume is particularly affected by a decline in the number of tests taken in Canada, China, and Japan.
