The number of GMAT® tests taken worldwide during the first 10 months of 2003 is lower than the number taken during the first 10 months of 2002. The GMAT® volume through October 31, 2003—175,869 worldwide—shows a 13.15% decrease when compared with the number of tests taken during the same time period in 2002 (a year of unusually high test volume) but is closer to the number of tests taken during the first 10 months of 2001 (189,301).
Worldwide test volume includes tests taken by the same individuals (21% of test volume overall and 28% among those tests within the mean score range, 500 to 540), tests taken by those planning to apply to nonbusiness programs (20% of total volume), and tests taken by those not planning to enroll in a business program within 12 months of their test date (32% of total volume).
