Created in 2008 with a US$10 million commitment, the Management Education for Tomorrow (MET) Fund formalizes and enhances the Graduate Management Admission Council's long-standing commitment to investing in strategic philanthropic initiatives that benefit business and management education globally.
Ideas to Innovation Challenge
The MET Fund Ideas to Innovation Challenge seeks to find the world’s best ideas for improving graduate management education and then to fund the top proposals, turning the best ideas into active innovation. Open to individuals worldwide, the challenge asks simply: What one idea would improve graduate management education?
The two-part challenge, will award a total of US$250,000 in prizes to 15 people, with the most promising proposal taking home US$50,000. Find out more by visiting the GMAC MET Fund Challenge Website or submit your idea by clicking the button below.

In the second phase of the competition, the Graduate Management Admission Council’s Management Education for Tomorrow Fund will post the top ideas on gmacmetfund.org, where schools and other not-for-profit organizations can submit proposals to turn any of them into reality. The US$10 million MET Fund will fund a number of the proposals to turn an initial winning idea into a global management education innovation.
Background
GMAC recognizes that educational attainment is highly correlated to individual and national prosperity, and management education plays a key role in the development of societies. Business education is offered at more than 12,000 institutions worldwide, and each year, nearly 500,000 people receive graduate degrees in business and management administration.
The governing body of GMAC Member Schools is committed to supporting the development of and increasing access to quality management education worldwide. With the METFund, GMAC plays a leading role in this realm by directly supporting initiatives to improve and expand access to quality management education. Most recently, the Council renewed its commitment to the PhD project, an award-winning program aimed at increasing diversity in the faculty of US business schools.
The MET Fund also supports GMAC's Management Education Research Institute (MERInstitute). Established in in 2005, the MERInstitute seeks out and sponsors academic research on issues affecting graduate management education. View the 2010 Call for Proposals to find out more.
