About the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC)

About Us

The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) is a global nonprofit association of leading graduate business schools.

Since our founding in 1953 by nine business schools seeking to evaluate applicants’ academic potential, GMAC has expanded to a global association of more than 225 member institutions, offering products and services trusted by 7,000+ business school programs worldwide. For over 70 years, we’ve championed graduate management education (GME) and delivered solutions no single school could achieve alone.

From administering the GMAT exam—the most widely used graduate business school assessment—to offering market insights, professional development, and marketing and recruitment solutions for admissions professionals, GMAC provides the tools and information necessary for schools and talent to discover and evaluate each other. Our latest development, Advancery, is an AI-powered platform designed to help candidates explore programs and plan their careers.

At the heart of everything we do is our purpose to ensure talent never goes undiscovered. With offices in China, India, the United Kingdom, and the United States and over 17 million annual visitors across our platforms, GMAC specializes in connecting future business leaders from around the world with the educational opportunities best suited for them.
